Private Label Packaging and Labeling for Accessories

Packaging and label errors can prevent an otherwise acceptable accessory from being retail-ready. The buyer should provide one approved pack instruction that identifies every component: hangtag, care label, woven or printed brand label, barcode, size sticker, polybag, tissue, gift box, inner pack and shipping carton. Artwork files need version control, readable dimensions, color references and confirmed placement. UPC or EAN data must come from the buyer or an authorized data source; a supplier should not invent codes. Care content, fiber information, origin marking, language and warning requirements depend on the product and destination market, so legal applicability must be confirmed for the project. Polybag warnings are also market- and bag-specific rather than universal. For scarf-hat-glove sets, define whether items are paired, bundled, boxed or ticketed individually and how colors and sizes are identified. Before bulk packing, approve a packaging sample or clear photographic reference. During quality checks, verify artwork version, attachment, barcode readability where required, pack count, carton assortment and carton marks. Final packaging scope and testing are confirmed per quotation.

Control the artwork source

Use buyer-approved artwork and data. Record version, dimensions, material, color and placement for each component. The buyer remains responsible for approving brand assets, barcode data and market-specific wording.

Plan every retail component

  • Hangtag
  • Care label
  • Woven or printed brand label
  • UPC or EAN barcode
  • Size sticker
  • Polybag or tissue
  • Gift box or display packaging

Confirm market-dependent requirements

Fiber, care, origin, language and warning requirements depend on product and market. Polybag warnings and testing should be checked for the destination rather than copied from another program.

Approve pack-out before bulk

Confirm individual pack, set pairing, color and size identification, carton assortment, carton marks and retailer-specific instructions through an approved sample or documented reference.
